Property Description

HISTORIC UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN 198+/- ACRE FARM FOR SALE! Located just west of the Village of Ewen, on Old Highway M-28, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - 38+/- Acres are in Matchwood Township and 160+/- Acres are in adjoining McMillan Township, both in Ontonagon County. Anthony and Mary Malnar, the original owners of 160 acres of this property, immigrated from Yugoslavia in 1898. After working in various Copper Country mines, in 1905 Mr. Malnar purchased the cut-over land. After both passing away in the early 1950s, one of their children moved onto the property for several years. The Current Owners having been lovingly caring for the original property, and an additional joining property included in the sale. In the last years, several plots have been tilled for hay production. Other areas (between cultivated areas) have been left undisturbed and small trees, shrubs and native grasses mingle with wildflowers and play an important role in providing habitat for game, birds, bees, and butterflies. Lots of woodlands on the property also provide great cover for wildlife. These undisturbed areas provide critical habitat for wildlife as they provide food and cover for ground-nesting birds, grouse, geese, and ducks. Deer regularly visit this farmstead, and there are trails created throughout the acreage, and Hunting Blinds are strategically located here and there. The home features a large
